Creating the Life You Desire Through Pictures
My acquaintance with dream boards came crashing into my world in 2004 when a friend invited me to a women’s group. I was skeptically sitting on the floor of a cramped family room in Stapleton, with ten strangers cutting out images from over one hundred magazines. The energy was crazy. Scraps of papers were scattered everywhere. For those who have never heard of such a thing, Dream Boards are all about creating the life you desire. You may also have heard them called Vision Boards. It is about cutting out pictures and words that represent the path you want to be traversing in this lifetime and pasting them on a piece of cardboard. All you need to get started is scissors, glue, ten magazines from different publishers, and a back board of some sort.
Building the poster is easy. Finding the pictures is tougher. Getting clear on what you really want to create in your life is the hardest part of all. Be mindful of what you cut out and glue to the surface. Every intention placed on the board will create the energy of desire. The longing will be fueled by placing the poster in a prominent spot and sticking to an ongoing commitment to review it every day. Having the thoughts about these intentions creates positive vibrations and eventually, most of the items will end up in your possession.
Sounds crazy, right? It’s not. It has worked for me. I keep mine in my closet. There are five of them. My first dream board had about twenty pictures and words on it. The mottos I plastered over my future life the first time were happiness, Better Sleep, Better Health, Live Your Best Life and Infinite. The images included English riding gear, a lifelong skiing partner on the edge of a mountain slope, a romantic tryst in Tahiti, and jet skiing in the ocean. In the center of the wishes was a diamond ring from a future husband with a white gold diamond Rolex watch just to the left. Nine years later, I am proud to report I have everything on my list but two of the pictures; the Rolex and Tahiti. I could give you dozens of examples but the best advice is to do it yourself. It works.
Every few years I start over and get clear on what I am supposed to be doing here. I encourage you to do the same. Build your boards and if you get anything unexpectedly, send me an email. Please share the details of your journey. One more thing….. happy hunting on discovering your new life.
