Another One Listed

 Listing another rental property today felt like an 800 pound gorilla was finally being lifted off my back. There have already been seven showings even thought it has barely been on the market for twenty-four hours.  The biggest issue is the size of the backyard, which I can do nothing about. The timing certainly seems right for selling. Real estate values are up substantially in the first eight months of the year, taking a big jump in July. One thing is for certain, it costs money to get your house ready to sell. We have had three workers there for several weeks fixing everything that needed fixing.  All that time spent by was for painting, pulling weeds, planting new bushes, replacing the hickory oak kitchen flooring and a number of other innocuous items that most renters ignore.  We also lost a month’s rent on account of it being empty for over thirty nine days.  Even with all the costs we have had so far, and a small back yard that can’t be fixed, I am grateful to be on the road to execution.   

PS.  A quick update:  The house sold in three days and closes at the end of September
